EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist
Thank you so much for considering counseling with me. I know that reaching out for support can feel like a big step, and I want you to know that I deeply honor the courage it takes to begin. Seeking therapy is often the first small step towards meaningful change.
I was born in Maine, where I developed a deep love for the outdoors and an appreciation for the quiet ways nature helps us reset, reflect, and heal. Life eventually brought me to Florida, where I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Central Florida, and later completed my Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling at Nova Southeastern University. After many meaningful years in South Florida, I relocated to Jacksonville, drawn to its balance of coastal beauty and nearby mountain escapes, places that help me stay grounded and connected to what matters most.
With over 20 years of experience, I've had the privilege of working in hospital, residential, and academic settings, supporting both adolescents and adults through some of life's most challenging and transformative moments. These experiences have shaped my belief that healing is not about "fixing" who you are, but about helping you reconnect with your inherent resilience, strength, and sense of self. I am licensed in both Florida and Maine, certified as an EMDRIA therapist, and remain committed to providing thoughtful, ethical, and evidence-based care.
Serving the Jacksonville Area: Based in Mandarin, Jacksonville, I proudly serve clients throughout the greater Jacksonville area, St. Johns County, and surrounding communities. Florida clients can choose in-person or virtual sessions, while Maine clients receive virtual sessions.
My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and deeply individualized. I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and free to explore whatever you may be carrying, without judgment or pressure. Together, we move at a pace that feels right for you. While therapy often holds space for difficult emotions, I also believe healing includes moments of lightness, relief, and connection. When appropriate, I incorporate humor and authenticity into our work, because those moments can help remind us that hope is still present, even in difficult seasons.
I have experience supporting clients with anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, ADHD, grief, burnout, self-esteem challenges, relationship and intimacy concerns, and major life transitions. My integrative approach may include EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, person-centered therapy, and mindfulness-based practices, always tailored to your unique needs and goals.
My hope is that you leave each session feeling a little more understood, a little more grounded, and a little more connected to yourself. Healing doesn't happen all at once, it unfolds over time, often in small, meaningful moments. It would truly be an honor to walk alongside you as you navigate your journey and rediscover your strength, clarity, and inner light.
"Life is a constant flow of new pressures, adventures, and shifts. I have an unwavering belief in human resilience and my innate capacity to help you reclaim and reshape your life."
My practice is rooted in warmth and empathy. I prioritize a non-judgmental environment where you can be your most authentic self. I operate under one core belief: You are the expert on your own life. My role is to listen deeply and tailor a treatment plan that honors your unique goals.
For two decades, I have helped individuals navigate their most complex seasons. I blend clinical framework with deep intuition, drawing from 20 years of experience in:
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a powerful, evidence-based psychotherapy approach that helps individuals heal from psychological distress resulting from disturbing life experiences.
Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR doesn't require extensive discussion of the distressing issue. Instead, it uses bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements) to help your brain reprocess traumatic memories in a way that reduces their lingering effects. During EMDR sessions, you'll focus briefly on the traumatic memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation. This process helps your brain naturally move toward adaptive resolution.
EMDR has been extensively researched and proven effective for treating trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and many other psychological concerns. Many clients find that EMDR therapy can produce results more rapidly than years of traditional therapy.
Scientifically proven trauma treatment recognized by the WHO and APA
Harnesses your brain's innate ability to process and heal
Tailored to your unique healing journey and specific needs
Accelerated therapy designed to create meaningful progress in days, not months.
Traditional 50-minute weekly sessions can sometimes feel like a "start-and-stop" process. Intensives are the fast-pass to healing. By working in concentrated blocks (1 to 3 days), I remove the time pressure, allowing your nervous system to fully engage and process trauma deeper and faster.

I understand that this is a significant investment in your healing. If you are interested in learning more or wondering if it's the right fit for you, I would be happy to set up a complimentary phone consultation to answer your questions and discuss your goals.
Note: EMDR Intensives are not covered by insurance.
